  16.                     Sightings Reported Over The Bay

  20.    The  truth  is  out  there - and  perhaps  closer than you think with
  21. Lancaster UFO Network receiving dozens of reports of a mysterious `black
  22. triangle` hovering over Morecambe Bay.

  24.    The network was established six months ago and has members across the
  25. region  including  Barrow-In-Furness  as  well as a further 250 names on
  26. it`s mailing list.

  28.    Spokesman  Tim Matthews said since the beginning of January, they had
  29. received  50  to  60  reported  sightings of the `black triangle` in the
  30. Morecambe  Bay area as well as over Barrow.  The aircraft is believed to
  31. be linked with the Aurora Project in America which the authorities claim
  32. is to do with the development of top secret aircraft.

  34.    However, the `black triangle` is the object of great interest amongst
  35. UFOlogists  and  was  featured  in  an early episode of TV programme The
  36. X-Files  which draws upon documented evidence as inspiration for many of
  37. its storylines.

  39.    Tim  said there is video footage of the craft taken at the officially
  40. non - existant  `Area 51`  in  Nevada  and  it  is  thought to have been
  41. designed using technology recovered from UFO crash sites.

  43.    He  is  uncertain  what  the  `black  triangle` might be doing in the
  44. Furness / North  Lancashire area but suggested Trident submarine pens in
  45. Barrow  could be one local point of interest about which it is gathering
  46. information.

  48.   "The  X-Files  has  been  a  useful  recruiting vehicle for us and has
  49. opened  a  lot of minds but what we ask is `What about the REAL X-Files'
  50. said Tim.

  52.    He  decribed  the  network  as  being  "very political" and campaigns
  53. openly  on  the  issue - at  present  it is organising a rally to demand
  54. `End UFO Secrecy.`

  56.   "The reason why official bodies such as Airstaff 2, the Whitehall Dept
  57. which  deals  with  UFO sightings, are not coming clean is that they are
  58. not in control of the situation."

  60.   "Our  members are everyday people and include university graduates who
  61. are busy researching the field and gathering information.  The way I see
  62. it, the truth is the truth and you have to pursue it."
